I Against I [RELOADED]

(I affectionately refer to this post as “RELOADED” because of the issues getting the Youtube links to actually take intially when this went up. I take pride in providing good content to go along with (hopefully) good writing; so the lack of that rather upset me. With that set, I hope you enjoy the blog post the way it was meant to be read. Have great one, I strive for quality control – Management)

“I-ya/ I against I/ flesh of my flesh and mind of my mind/ two of a kind but one won’t survive/ my images reflect in the enemies eye/ and his images reflect in mine the same time.”

Been getting a lot of questions lately since my Resistance Pro debut about how I went from this…..

Sugar D in NY

Wild-mannered Sugar Dunkerton...

to this….

Resistance Pro's Lock-UP

Resistance Pro's future tag team champions, Lock-Up. A much saltier Sugar D on the left, Aaron Epic on the right.

SHOCK.

GASP.

AWE.

What can I tell you? I aim to cause cardiac arrests.

But it leads me to the subject matter of our blog this day. Why can change be such a scary thing? Once you start bending the rules of what is engrained; grounded people can become irrational and unhinged. Isn’t that life however? No forevers or constants? The only promise being the promise of change. No memos, carrier pigeons, telegrams, texts, or psychic messages.

Get with the program or get gone.

Wrestling has GOT to be one of the best examples in terms of a fanbase who lives by “if it ain’t broke etc etc etc…”. As vocal as they can be about what they don’t like; sudden changes go about as well as death metal at a Baptist revival.

“Sugar, you don’t know what you’re talking about.”

I don’t? -Ahem-

1. JBL’s title reign

2. Get the “F” out (WWE’s name rebranding).

3. John Cena: From “Word Life” to “Serious, Never Give Up, Main Eventer”

4. The Roster Split

5. Brodus Clay: Monster Big Man to Dancing Dinosaur

List goes on and on. Some complaints are warranted, others not so much. My point being that without change, we enter a new realm defined as “stagnant”.

stag·nant/ stagnənt/ Adjective;

  • Showing no activity; dull and sluggish: “a stagnant economy”.

So when I was approached by Resistance about the idea of Lock-UP, I wasn’t sure how to handle it or think on it. It wasn’t a change I was interested in on the surface. I can’t stand stereotypes. I’d like to think people are how they are and while they may be funny to laugh at or poke at, a life being defined as one can be  insulting. Wrestling especially hasn’t been kind to most African-Americans in terms of portrayal. Hell, a lot of nationalities for that matter. When you plot a gimmick around race as the BASIS instead of the character as the basis and their race as a support, then offense and lack of feeling for the character often follow. So when I decided I was going to take on a basketball gimmick and later, a racier prisoner persona, I always made sure to go into these with ONE thing in mind.

“I want them to see a basketball player/wrestler/prisoner first. It just so happens I’m black.”

I’d like to say it’s been mission accomplished no matter how you see me. I also want to assure that my wholesomeness and dedication to entertain hasn’t been compromised because of my moonlighting as a prisoner of KOA Penitentiary. Did Denzel suddenly stop being an incredible actor because he did dirt in Training Day? Or perhaps the late Heath Ledger lost all of his pretty boy status the moment he did his iconic portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight. Both of these MASTERS of their craft not only won Oscars for their work, but they challenged everything we thought we knew about their abilities. In the process, they even challenged themselves. The change you started out hating became a standard you’d never accept anything less than now.

I’ve always hated when any performer finds a formula and gets lazy. They lose the fire to better themselves and ultimately, create a better experience for the eyes fixated on them and the hearts waiting to be sent into a frenzy.

So when a packed house at The Excalibur stopped seeing me as a smiling, slapstick cartoon of a wrestler and got behind an intense, sharp, caged animal of an imprisoned scraper fighting for eventual freedom; voices in unison as they chanted for our performance as we were being chained back up like wild dogs….it changes what you know you’re capable of. There is no “act” as one telling of Sugar vs the other. They are all sides, thoughts, and emotions of the same soul who’s writings you’re reading. It’s the layers that separate the guys who fill holes on cards vs. the ones who actually stand out. They saw a change that they couldn’t deny once they accepted it.

If all you see is a strut or an orange jumpsuit, look closer. The nuances and details are what breathe life into content. There are heels and then there is William Regal. For my Regal fans out there, you know why he’ll live on as one of your favorite villains and it’s not because he played it safe with the material he was given. He ran with it. Even when he was a good guy, he made a hell of a good guy and it was a change we welcomed.

As a performer or looking on at this art, change is what leads us to new frontiers and grand experiences that surpass the ones we knew. We can’t fear a new take on an idea we’ve grown comfortable with and I never knew a time when our business thrived on being boring. Challenge yourself. As a fan, open your mind to like something unless it’s obvious no care has been put into the change. As a performer, taking that unknown step may be the step on the gas pedal needed to carry you to the next level. Have the guts to make that move. Scared money don’t make none and history isn’t written by the wusses of this world.

!~RANDOM SHOUTS~!

– I’d like to give shouts to newest #KOA member TAKA Suzuki (@takasuzuki1real on ze’ Twitter). Ken Scampi and Bill Carr of Team TREMENDOUS, and Beyond Wrestling for allowing this match below to have happened. Most fun I’ve had this year and I’m so pleased at the response this has gotten as a whole. This year has really been about letting go and just GOING FOR IT in my matches lately, be it serious or fun, and with results like this; I’d say that mantra is what I needed. I have received questions about it and YES, myself and TAKA are available for bookings as RUSH HOUR (yes, original I know. So is every other thought in wrestling :p) and we look forward to turning out a ring near you. Enjoy guys!

-Upcoming shows for me including AIW‘s April 6th event “Straight Outta Compton” vs ACH, Gary Jay, and Eric Ryan; HWA‘s Heartland Cup tournament on April 20th & 21st; Midwest Wrestling on April 22nd which will feature the first LIVE edition of the Halfcourt Lounge, & I AM confirmed for AIW’s JT Lightning tournament on May 11th & May 12th which should be quite the field! Come check me out and those are just a few of the dates I’ve got going on. More in the future and in between!

– Special shout and good will going towards my dude, Uhaa Nation (Give the sensation a shout over on @UhaaNation). Jonathan Gresham was always high on Nation, telling me that if he ever got a real chance, he’d blow the wrestling’s mind. He did just that on a faithful day in Indiana during Dragon Gate’s tryouts and not only impressed, but went on a tear that encompassed DGUSA, overseas for Dragon Gate, CZW, EVOLVE, and others. Most of all, he’s a humble soul with a real love for this business. His work ethic is insane and it hurts to hear about his DGUSA injury coupled with the fact that he will see nearly a year of inactivity due to it.

Some guys are blessed with tools, but lack the heart for you to care if they make it or not. No question about the heart on Nation. He wants it and I expect him to be back on a tear like no other when his body is ready for it. From a fellow Down South Georgia Boy who could see what all the hype was about in the PERSON, not just the matches, you need to get back and soon. I’m sure it won’t just be me that’d agree, daddy-o. Best wishes.

Well, no rest for the big-haired. Another blog another time with more thoughts, more stories, and definitely more reason for you to stay tuned to the escapades of a cat with a dream ya just can’t suffocate. Truth be told, even for the people that don’t want it for me, I want success more than I want to breath…so watch me work.:)

Later.

“IS THAT A GOOD THING?!’ – CM Punk

CM Punk.

Punk wins the WWE championship; setting off one of the most exciting eras in WWE history.

The talk of the wrestling world. Our -Howard Finkel voice- NEEEEEEEEEEEEEW Unemployed WWE Champion. Now I could bite other blogs and get into such things as….

-How awesome this was.

-Fantasy booking.

-Where we go from here.

But I’m not. There’s plenty of that to go around across the bevy of news sites, forums, and social networks you frequent. Besides, for those of us who followed his career from the days of Steel Domain, IWA-Mid South, ROH, etc….we knew a star when we saw one.

It wasn’t a question of if he could run with the main event slot, it was all a matter of if the big leagues would let him. And it just feels plain good to see that happen for such a hard worker and genuine star.

So in a change of pace, I’d like to share a story that’ll always stick out to me about CM Punk. I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting the man; but I get the sense from stories I’m told about him and his sheer humility in terms of his stature in the business, despite having the right to feel himself even a little bit, that I’d like him just fine.

Also, I need you to remember this word and definition.

crunk/krəNGk/Adjective: (of a person) Very excited or full of energy.

I’m sure you’ve heard this expression in terms of rap music, Dirty South slang, and the fact it was a generally popular term around the time period I’m about to discuss. I was an avid fan of it myself. This word will come into play later 🙂

I’d like you all to jump in the Wayback Machine with me to December 3, 2006….Augusta, GA…the James Brown Arena. Yes, that’s right…the “pay per view of which we do not speak”…

Augusta, GA FINALLY gets a PPV and it goes down as one of the worst ones ever. Figures.

ECW December to Dismember.  -LIGHTNING STRIKES, THUNDER ROLLS, BABIES CRY, LEBRON’S HAIRLINE REAPPEARS-

-Strange look-

Really? All that because I said….ECW December to Dismember?

-LIGHTNING STRIKES, THUNDER ROLLS, BABIES CRY, REBECCA BLACK DROPS ANOTHER SINGLE-

-Shudders-

Okay, I’m not testing fate anymore. But yes, there was a time that Augustians were actually EXCITED to see this pay-per-view. It also just so happened me and my best friend, Dantae Robertson, nabbed two tickets in some pretty swank seats for the event. Our suspicions were high on the possible sucktitude of this show, but everything is more fun when you’re not paying for it! So we hopped in the Impala and headed on down to the newly renamed James Brown Arena to check out the ECW brand’s first pay-per-view under WWE.

At this time, I’d been in the business a few years (way before I’d make any kind of real accounting for myself in the ring and WAY before a certain afro and basketball got introed into my life) and Danny always hit me up about information about indy wrestlers and wrestlers he didn’t know about. I’ve earned the nickname via Murder One (Of Rampage Pro and UWF fame. Hit him up at @MurderOne and tell him you’re looking for “FINE CHINA, babaloo.” :p ) of Computron 5000 due to my deep knowledge of all things wrestling. So it was only natural he’d ask me, “Who is CM Punk?”.

I swear, he got an education that car ride. Punk was the main reason I watched ECW and was who I would have paid to see going into this show. He gave me faith that the indy star could get to the big leagues and still retain the aspects that made him special. Not only that, but he got to main event this show in the Extreme Elimination Chamber. Surely this’d be his breakout night tonight, right? Bottom line, when I gave Danny the rundown, I wasn’t just rattling off info. I needed him to understand that Punk was a revolution waiting to happen and that the next star was in the making. I knew this because it had already been on display numerous times.

“Is he like the Rock?”

“No.”

“HBK.”

“Naw man.”

“Then how would you describe him?”

“He’s his own thing, dude. An original. Man….Punk is Crunk.”

It was the best i could do to describe him at the time. And the fact that I couldn’t make comparisons intrigued Danny, because he’d have to see him at work himself.

Fast forward some hours later; we’re in our seats and strangely geeked up for two guys that had sat through what guys around us called a “glorified house show”. But again, no money out our pockets; so we were having fun for what it was.

Finally, the main event came. Killswitch Engage thundered over the speakers and the arena came alive for this tattooed anti-thesis of everything WWE was pushing at the time. And it was awesome. The Augusta crowd received him quite well and for me, it was no ROH show with side banners to slap to the drum beat of “Miseria Cantare”; but it was close enough. Was finally gonna get to see him do work live and it was just a great feeling. Then it got even better; he entered the ring to take his place in one of the chamber pods….

…the chamber pod right next to our section on the floor.

I couldn’t resist. Now, I was fortunate to have been in a section with some good-hearted folk that didn’t mind some crazy chants throughout the night. So it had to be done. I had to see if I could get away with it.

“Punk-is-crunk….Punk-is-crunk….”

Soon a few voices joined along, and eventually, our section was loud enough in the chant to catch his ear.

“PUNK IS CRUNK! PUNK IS CRUNK!”

What happened next completely threw me off guard, but showed me the kind of cat he was. It lead to a story I’d tell for fun which I’m now sharing with you guys.

Punk proceeded to turn around in his chamber, which struck me as odd given I thought the average guy would be immersed in the “big match situation” he was currently in. Regardless, he turned to our section; listening through the chamber pod at our chant. He then tapped the glass to get our attention, the tap as effective as a mute button.

CM PUNK: “IS THAT A GOOD THING?!”

US: “YEEEEEEEEA!!!”

CM PUNK: -Cheshire cat grin and a thumbs up- “OKAY!”

He then egged us on to chant it more and we gladly obliged him as loudly and strongly as we could. In the midst of me starting the chant, I failed to realize that he may have NEVER heard the term “crunk” before in his lifetime. So I’d like to think he was educated that night :p

Most of all, I hope he realizes that taking the word “crunk” for the base meaning…CM Punk is exactly that. A lot of people enjoy him and admire him for different reasons. I think I do because he’s accomplished the extraordinary, but has remained humble in thought and action even when he sits atop the throne. In all my years of watching wrestling and being apart of it, you’ll have many constantly speak at the highest of their lungs how great they are. How good they are.

Real power, is when the people KNOW you are; without any words being spoken. I’m proud to have lived in a time where this has finally been displayed.

“Therefore the Master
acts without doing anything
and teaches without saying anything.
Things arise and he lets them come;
things disappear and he lets them go.
He has but doesn’t possess,
acts but doesn’t expect.
When his work is done, he forgets it.
That is why it lasts forever.” – Lao Tzu

Is This Thing On?

-Wipes the dust off his WordPress account, coughs a bit, tap microphone-

Test. Test. Is this thing on?

Well good.  Been awhile since I last poked my head in regarding the adventures of the afroed wonder. 5 WHOLE MONTHS to be exact. It’s not that I didn’t sit at a laptop or attempt to do a blog from my mobile from time to time….I just felt like I lacked something worth the keystrokes to talk about. So I waited until there was something worth saying to pop back up.

And here I am. Seeing and feeling different from the February when I last chronicled a non-Twitter thought. I warn you now, this particular blog is gonna be quite Ghostface Killah in terms of stream of thought; so I’d strap in if you wanna follow along with me. And here we go, bullet points go~!

-With loss we all have our moments where the signs are neon bright; but we turn our eye to them; even dim the glare. I don’t care how hardened of a person you think you are; losing something or someone can really gut you.

I come from a background of constant moving around, a broken home, and a general lack of self-esteem early in life (THANKS PUBLIC SCHOOL~!); so losing things and detaching could have been considered a secondary skill. But I’m only human; we all are.

A recent loss was a good friend of mine, Amasis. Our business chews up and spits out wrestlers like sunflower seeds. We know this. But the bonds we build in this strange fraternity don’t make these happenings any easier. I remember jumping on Twitter and hearing small rumors about his forced retirement.

Disbelief. It couldn’t be true. It was only a month or two that we spoke and we talked about all the matches he still had left in him. Mountains to conquer. Talent like that just doesn’t die…does it?

One phone call later; reality laid one right across my grill. This is how it ends? I’m still rocked about it even now. The irony being that it wasn’t set in stone for everyone else until I tweeted it. What a way to finally make the Figure 4 Weekly, yea? /end sarcasm. The more I saw it retweeted and reposted; the more I feel like I was the one that confirmed the death on my own friend’s career.

Worst. Honor. Ever.

A part of me hopes this is premature; that he’ll come back and dazzle us one more time the way we all know he can. I know we care about his well-being and health, but deep down; the selfish person in us all wants one more crazy dance or a gravity defying 450. Me? I just want my friend around.

Get better man. You’ve got friends in or out of the ropes for life.

-I’d like to thank the other half of the Osirian Portal, Ophidian for our two matches (one in CHIKARA the other for Force 1’s Tour De Force) recently. The guy is a real grinder and he’s been forced to adapt and reinvent now that he’s flying solo. The real respect from me comes in the fact that he’s not looking to this as a crutch, but as a challenge that he’s going to tackle head on. I feel like our work brought out the best in us recently and I hope nothing but success for ya in the 12 Large Summit and beyond. You desssssssssserve it. See what I did there? :p

-I’d like to take a moment to speak on my trip to Puerto Rico for PRWA. Wow. From the moment I stepped off the plane, I felt very in tune with the place as a whole and I’d recommend anybody to check it out if they have the opportunity. It’s the kind of place where you swear out you’ve seen the most beautiful sight you’ve ever seen and minutes later, it will be topped. I’m fortunate enough to say that it looks like my relationship with the Puerto Rico Wrestling Alliance will continue after an awesome show in Ponce.

I faced turncoat and general arrogant cat, Samuel Adams and it was a real blast performing for the crowd. Despite language barriers; I loved that they may have not understood what I was saying, but could FEEL what I was getting across. There’s a pride and love they take in their country, heritage, and people and it’s left a lasting impression with me.

PRWA in The Paper!

PRWA in The Paper!

Paradise Exists

Paradise Exists in Puerto Rico

I also wanna give special thanks to Victor and Josian’s lovely and well-cultured wife for furthering my Spanglish! “Yo soy helado chocolate, mamita!” became my phrase over there and to say it was well-recieved was like saying Mark Henry is just a “kinda big” guy :p

Mark my words, Azucar Chocolate has not forgotten my new family in PRWA and the  new wave of fans I’ve taken on. We’ve only just begun!

Ruego nos reunimos más temprano que tarde.

-It’s been quite a time to watch wrestling right now, yea? CM Punk is the hot commodity in a way like nobody would have EVER thought possible with his brilliant promo on RAW. Any semblance of a 4th wall got smashed, but was done artistically enough to keep us out of late WCW territory with shoots that went over EVERYBODY’S heads.

Hop over to Spike TV and you’ve got TNA switching gears and placing emphasis on the X-Division. With that emphasis became focus on strong matches and in-ring storytelling that lead to a highly entertaining Destination X PPV that I’m only recently viewing. Even the introduction of their Bound For Glory series (Hmmm….why does that sound so familair…-logs on to www.chikarapro.comwith each match, round robin style, counting towards a title shot and therefore, making the matches of true worth.

Both companies made returns to what made us fall in love with them in the first place. WWE for unleashing an air of unpredictability and must-see TV that felt real in execution; while TNA proceeded to be very un-WWE like, letting unreal ring work and match-based stories take center stage.

The responses for both products have had fans on a high of interest I LOVE to see in our business. Will they continue down the exciting paths they’ve ventured down? It’s all up to you now guys.

I for one love to read opinions, negative and positive, from fans about matches, shows, and all else they intake about the squared circle. Wrestling fans are a breed that definitely arent shy about what they hate. Mention the wrong wrestler and the temperature on a message board goes up 50 degrees easily. I just hope in the midst of all the negative you don’t forget to commend the positive. Not just in words, but in deed too.

Tune in. Buy DVDs. Do the first P in “PPV”! Your dollars and time decide directions and focus in this business and this time more than ever is where you decide what happens next. I hope the PPV numbers for Destination X and the replays are through the roof. I hope the past few weeks of CM Punk being the highlight of TV usher in strong ratings for RAW. I promise you, they pay attention.

Your voices are loud, but your money makes a great megaphone when that ain’t enough.

– As many of you know, I co-host Pantsless Radio alongside my dear friend Wiggy (@Wiggygator on Twitter)  for Card Subject to Change Network and I was expecting yesterday to be another slapstick episode of debauchery and such.

-Lid blows off-

Then Jimmy Rave (@TheJimmyRave on ze’ Twitter -throws toilet paper-) hit the show and what followed was an hour+ of not only a man who’s had his share of laughs and wild nights; but proof that redemption is out there if you seek it.

Starting off in my career, I used to follow the exploits of Jimmy Rave not just because he was quite the talent, but also because he was a Georgia boy being featured in major indies and internationally. I wanted to see the sights he’d seen and I held to the belief that I could have more than what the bounds of Georgia could give me. Our interview with him yesterday revealed so much in regards to the toll and hefty price he paid to be in this business. Unlike so many of our brothers who have fallen to their vices and demons, Jimmy made it out and continues to perform not only at a high level (as seen recently for Dragon Gate USA, TNA, or on a regular basis with Rampage Pro Wrestling) he now gives back in his community to help others fight addiction.

When the link to download this episode of Pantsless is prepared, I implore you, spend some time and listen to that installment. Take in what he’s saying and I hope it calls out to you like it did for us and so many listeners who caught this live.

It’s amazing how inspirations can find new ways to inspire you.

PLANKIN~!

I've done crazier in AND out of tights! So what's the big deal about planking?

-Planking. The new uber-silly craze to overtake the internet. I feel our goood friends at Wikipedia could educate those who don’t know about planking better than I. I notice there’s no in between on it either. It’s hailed as either the stupidest thing in all of life or quite the creatively fun activity.

The way I figure it, we all are prone to bouts of thoughtful stupidity. It’s gonna happen. Lighten up and realize that laying face down in strange manners isn’t going to rock the Earth off center. In my own case, who would I be to lay in on plankers given that I’ve only partaken in my share of zany moments….

So who am I to get uppity? Plankers gonna’ plank!

-I’ve been asked about shirts and other merch. Patience folks. I actually got some responses from a number of WONDERFUL artists who hit me up and I have every intent of trying to work in the designs they’ve created into shirts. They’re absolutely groovy and I can’t wait to share when the moment is correct.

-Looking ahead I’ll be appearing for Beyond Wrestling’s “About Time” show on the 23rd & 24th of this month. I worked with them for the first time at their Miracle Workers event. It left me a tad skeptical, never wrestling competitively in a setting where just other workers were watching without it being a training or tryout situation. What I found was a crew of lively youngsters, journeymen, future stars, and outrageous personalities. Beyond definitely marches to the beat of a different drum, but the work I saw on display was just incredible and most of all…I had FUN. So much fun. It reminded me why I love this business and set my on a positive road for the coming months to follow. It’s gonna be a pleasure to get it in at their first live show ever and PLEASE don’t forget it’s a double header in conjunction with another bizarrely great company, InterSpecies Wrestling. They’ll be holding their first ever Burger King of The Ring tournament which I’m sure’ll be a hot one. GO DAN BARRY~! (@TheDanBarry on Twitter. Gotta love this guy.)

-I’ve already been asked a few questions as to why I named my lariat the “Bow Chicka Wow Wow”. It stems from a Twitter convo with the lovely librarian-esque Victoria (@prettyheartless on Twitter. Stop by and say hi! Warning: She can live up to her handle.) when I made mention of naming a move that very name. She proceeded to introduce the thought of row of girls screaming “BOW CHICKA WOW WOW!” in unison…..I’m a red-blooded male. What more could you expect from me? She now earns 10 cents every lariat :p

-Wanna thank my supporters in New York for the serious love shown when I hit the Fray for Dragon Gate USA. It pumped me up to no end and I’m just hoping my performance was worth the screams. It’s been a hard climb for some of the shots I’m finally receiving, but you guys make me feel like it’s all a matter of wanting it bad enough. You have no clue the power that holds over a guy. We’ve still got 6 months left before we count this year out; so let’s go higher and go further. I know we can 🙂

Anyway, I got episodes of the Powerpuff Girls on deck and moves to make. I’ll try to keep the blogging more frequent when I can.

By the by….while I’m already up north next week, I wonder what other trouble I can get into. 🙂 Stay tuned. We’ve yet to even get to the 3rd quarter folks!

Sugar D! Where Have You Been?!

Busy would be the answer guys. For the CHIKArmy, it must seem like I’ve fallen off the face of the Earth, but I’m well and good. Working hard and staying busy around the Florida and Georgia scene, biding time til Young Lion’s in August! I’m mad excited getting to compete win all this flavor from around the country and the world; hoping to bring that cup home and dub myself “Young Mufasa” by the tournament’s end….oh I just can’t wait to be king 😉

Being away from the Midwest leg of CHIKARA’s run, I missed out on a chance to be under the same roof with Bryan Danielson; but as fate would have it, he’ll be in the house for Rampage Pro Wrestling’s Sizzlin’ Summer Bash this Saturday, July 31st in Warner Robins, Georgia.

RPW's Sizzlin Summer Bash Poster

I expect it to be a slam dunk of an event with the talent involved and perhaps me and ol’ Bryan D can share grooming tips…me on hair care, him on how to properly accessorize a tie :p

– Speaking of Rampage, I’ve been enjoying my time there since my debut early in the month and the product from an entertainment and wrestling standpoint is definitely worth your attention. www.rampageprowrestling.net is the place and you can catch their TV show online each and every week, you may recognize somebody you know scoring a big upset over half of Hot Like Lava, Cru Jones if you partake of the episode 🙂

That’s just a clip though what ya got up there. Gotta catch the show for the full thing brohams!

-Also, had the pleasure of being a guest on Hit The Ropes (www.hittheropes.com and had a blast with their crew and their other special guest Marti Belle (check her out on Twitter @martibelle, she’s such a sweetheart…even if her taste in NXT rookies is lacking.) The interview can be heard just down below if you’re up for it. I promise you, we’re all over the place on this, but it’s so worth it. I’m holding you to our playdate in Brooklyn, Marti…or I give you shortarm clothesline. -glare- Shouts to Matt AWESUM~!(@Mattawesum) for getting the deal done.

– Shoutout to Stacy “Kat” Carter and Sinn “Kizarny” Bodhi on getting shackl…I mean, joined in holy matrimony. I’ve only known them for a short time, but the two of them are such a good look and you can’t stereotype what happiness is or what it looks like. Ya’ll keep it together forever you two!

http://hittheropes.com/index.php/component/content/article/40/190

– Those who follow me on Twitter will know I’ve changed my workout to circuit training, and let me tell you, it’s WORK…but worth it. Results within mere weeks guys if you do what ya gotta. I’m trying to be in serious shape for YLC and beyond and a sound body makes for sound living. Put your time in, the gym is your friend. I’ll testify to that. I’ll admit, I’m a lazy one without the right playlist though lol. (Transformers soundtrack, Van Halen, Kanye, Street Sweeper Social Club, Daft Punk usually does the trick.)

– So who knew my Twitter would be worth watching on Tuesday nights?

Wanna give shouts to those who follow my unofficial commentary on WWE NXT on Tuesday nights and I’m glad the laughter and insight is contagious. NXT feels like the most “real” wrestling show on TV to me right now, because it comes off like they don’t want to hide the mistakes and it’s not micro-managed all to hell. It makes for great observations and apparently, great joke material by the looks of my replies on Tuesdays.

I’m often asked as well, so I’ll gladly answer….who I want to win, Percy Watson. Who will win….Leaning towards Mr. Perfect’s Son. (Refuse to call him by his slave WWE last name. No sir.)

hotchocolate.spreadshirt.com will be seeing updates to the merchandise VERY soon, keep an eye out, but feel free to nab some of the cool stuff already there!

– Manami Toyota in CHIKARA….color me interested if not dark.

– Question…thinking about getting new duds made soon? What FICTIONAL team should I have on my singlet style jersey? Throw me some ideas via Twitter (@sugerdunkerton) or comment on the blog. GO WILD!

-What’s good…Beck, Rick’s Ross’ new CD “Teflon Don”, Kanye West on Twitter, LeBron on a team that may get him a ring FINALLY, Inception, Salt, tiramisu, Silversun Pickups, being told you’re loved and believing it, Facebook inside jokes, “I like ya…and I want ya” bit from the Boondocks, Kyle Matthews of Rampage pro Wrestling being apart of the 4 way that includes J-Rod, Bryan Danielson, and Jimmy Rave. Too good to be such a secret to the indy scene at large.

What’s not hot….missing so much CHIKARA (WITHDRAWALS UGH), Lindsay Lohan news of any sort, BP STILL messing up, Twilight in any shape or form,  Lucky Cannon not being gone by now, The red ring o’ doom, people who wanna call you when you’re up, but no words when you were down.

Later days ya’ll. AUGUST IS COMIN’!

Pow.

Ol’ boy Dunks
